Manly Strider had just crested
the hilltop when he saw Godzilla in the ocean some distance from
land, zigzagging back and forth, as if trying to decide where it
would be best to hit shore. A sailboat behind Godzilla was still
afloat. Manly wondered with amazement how the sailor escaped harm
with Godzilla in such close proximity. Moments later, Godzilla made
up his mind and obliterated a sprawling mansion as he stomped on
land. He continued up the valley toward the hills, not appearing to
be breathless whatsoever. "Godzilla must to be in terrific
cardiovascular shape!" exclaimed Manly.
All the stomping resulted in
tremendous ground vibrations, causing adjacent residents to scurry
out of their homes under the assumption that an earthquake had
occurred. One tearful young boy was quite shaken and could only rail
on Godzilla for causing such fear. Many houses were severely damaged
from the shaking, from shifted foundations to huge cracks in the
walls. Roads were splits, water mains were ruptured and power lines
were downed.
As Godzilla bypassed the
hilltops, he turned and retraced his steps back into the ocean,
causing even more damage as he went. This was the first time that
Godzilla has caused such damage.
We don't want to sound too de
ja vu, but we are, once again, seeing another side to Godzilla -
a stomping, destructive side. Perhaps we should give Godzilla
another nickname - Spompazilla! If Godzilla is getting older,
it sure hasn't slowed him down any. And he definitely isn't
mellowing out. If he is he getting used to people, it's only to
scare the heck out of them.
Questions still abound - why did
Godzilla beat such a destructive path? Why such a mood swing? We can
only wait in utter fear for where Godzilla could possibly show up next.
All we can say is that we must be prepared for the worst, because
only Godzilla knows what he may do in the days to come.
